how do i find my order number?

Order numbers are located at the top right corner of the packing slip included with your shipment. You can also find it in your order confirmation email.

can i cancel my order?

We are able to cancel your order if it has not yet been fulfilled. All personalized and made to order items (14k gold) are not eligible for cancellation. 

can i make changes to my order?

We will do our best to accommodate any changes to your order, but terms may apply. Please email us your request at

can i only purchase kyle cavan pieces online?

Our complete collection is available on, however, we are sold in select university bookstores/ web stores, and boutiques.

what if my school is not available?

If you can't find your school on our website, no problem! Feel free to submit your custom design request via this link  to work with us on creating a piece for your school! Unfortunately due to the cost and length of the design process, we are unable to create custom architecture, shields, and enamel pieces on an individual basis. 

do you offer gift-wrapping?

At the moment we do not offer gift wrapping, however, there is an option to include a gift note on each product page! 

do you offer collections for hbcu’s?

Yes we do! Here is a link to our current HBCU Collections - and we are waiting on design approval from: Xavier, Texas Southern, Tennessee State, Fayetteville, and Alabama A&M. 

Every university has different upfront licensing/ royalty fees and many are harder to obtain licenses for than others. If your school or organization isn’t represented, you can request it HERE!

do you offer collections for divine 9 organizations?

We have applied to several Divine 9 organizations when we first launched, and hope to be reconsidered when we apply again. If your school or organization isn’t represented, you can request it HERE. We hope to eventually have collections for every school and sorority, so everyone is represented! 


what are your shipping time estimates?

Shipping timelines are included on each product page.


IN-STOCK items will ship from our HQ the next business day. IN-STOCK Sterling Silver jewelry that needs to be dipped in gold will ship within 5 business days. 


If your item is IN-STOCK and you're adding a back engraving using our tool, your item will ship in:

  • 14K Gold: 3-5 business days
  • Cavan Gold™ : 5-7 business days
  • Sterling Silver: 5-7 business days


If your item is MADE-TO-ORDER, or if you are personalizing cufflinks, or any bar style - rectangle, horizontal, vertical or gemstone bars, please allow 15-20 business days for delivery.

if one of my items is in stock, will you ship part of my order?

We do not ship partial orders as we are a small business and our goal is to be as sustainable as possible; however, if you are in need of your in-stock item please email us at and we can work with you on a solution.

my order has shipped out, but appears to be lost or delayed?

Sometimes mail can be tricky! Allow for a few more days, and if your order has yet to arrive, reach out to the carrier (USPS, UPS) for better tracking ability. If they are unable to help, contact us at so we can work on a solution.

what is your shipping policy?

We're happy to offer free shipping on orders over $250! 

Standard shipping costs $10 for orders under $250

International orders and Expedited shipping costs are calculated at checkout.

how do i track my order?

Once your order is shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with your tracking number. You can also track your order with the Shop app or sign up for SMS notifications.

how do i file a claim for my lost, damaged, or stolen order using route?

If you insured your order with Route at checkout, you will receive a confirmation email from Route with a link to file a shipping issue. 

You can also file a shipping issue on Route’s app or via the web here. To file a claim, you will need your store order number OR Route ID number and the email address that was attached to the order.

returns + exchanges 

what items can i return, and how do i return them?

We're happy to accept free returns on all orders, excluding customized pieces! Items that have been customized with an engraving cannot be returned or exchanged unless the item(s) are damaged upon receipt or the wrong item was received. 

To receive a full refund (minus shipping costs), the item(s) must be in the same condition that you received it in, and the return must be initiated within 30 days after shipment. For store credit, the return must be initiated within 45 days after shipment. To initiate the return process, please fill out THIS FORM in our Return Portal.

do you offer exchanges?

If you are looking to exchange an item, please follow the same steps as a return. All exchanges must be treated as a new order. 

how long does it take for my refund to be processed?

If your return meets the above requirements a full refund (excluding shipping costs) will be issued to your credit card or original method payment. Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to be processed.

how and where is your jewelry made?

We are based out of NYC! All of our jewelry is produced in Rhode Island and Costa Rica with ethically sourced materials.

my necklace is tangled. how do i untangle it?

To prevent tangling your chains:

  • Close the clasps on your chains before storing them away
  • Store them in a smaller space (like our tarnish free bag we include with your purchase), the less space it has to tangle the better!
  • When layering put your longer pieces on first

If your jewelry is tangled:

  • Never Pull!
  • Gently jiggle chain around to loosen entanglements
  • Use a tool with a fine point, i.e. a hairpin, tweezers, etc. to lightly separate knots to untangle chains

We offer Sterling Silver, Cavan Gold, Cavan Rose Gold, 14k Gold, and 14k Rose Gold.

what is cavan gold?

What exactly is Cavan Gold? Well, it's a Sterling Silver piece that has been dipped in 12k Yellow Gold! Making it a great piece to start building your jewelry collection! When it comes to cleaning, say 'no thanks' to any water or cleaning products, and 'yes please!' to a dry cloth to keep it looking brand new!

can i get my jewelry wet?

Our Cavan Gold pieces are best kept away from any kind of water or cleaning product. Instead, say 'yes please!' to a dry cloth to keep it looking brand new!


what chain length/styles do you offer?

We offer a choice between adjustable 16-17-18" chains and adjustable 20-21-22" chains, making it easy to create the ultimate layering moment! We offer the traditional cable chain for our pieces, and we also sell a link style chain that you can find HERE.


do you accept returns on personalized pieces?

Items that have been customized with engraving cannot be returned or exchanged unless the item(s) are damaged upon receipt or the wrong item was received. For more information on our return policy, check out the 'Returns + Exchanges Section under our FAQs.


do personalized pieces take longer to ship?

Yes, these pieces are custom-made just for you. Please allow up to 15-20 business days for personalized items to ship. We appreciate your understanding and patience!


what pieces are available for personalization?

We offer back engravings on most of our pendants except for our Architecture, Shields, and Nameplate collections.


my order arrived damaged?

Don't worry! Regardless of whether your items were personalized or not, we have your back! Contact us at 


can i send in my kc jewelry for repairs?

We put a lot of care into our products to ensure they're made to last as long as your important memories will! But accidents happen! If any issues arise in the quality of our jewelry beyond the normal wear and tear that our care instructions help to prevent, we are happy to accept pieces back for repairs up to 6 months after purchase! On our Cavan Gold pieces, we will be able to offer a reduced-fee re-plating option depending on the condition of your product. Please note KYLE CAVAN is not liable for any damage to the finish of the piece if care instructions are not followed.
